User:DCDuring added a Wikispecies link in this edit. But the Wikispecies page is for Heteroligus, an extant beetle genus in the order Coleoptera. The genus under consideration here is †Heterologus in the order Cnemidolestodea. Maybe this link was included in order to disambiguate the two? I feel like it's more confusing than helpful, though, at least without a note. 70.172.194.25 00:43, 15 April 2022 (UTC)Reply

I was trying to help someone who may have come to the entry based on the sound of the term rather than its spelling. There is no policy on this and no one has thought to question current practice. I wouldn't object to its deletion, but I think it may actually help. If you would like to solicit other opinions, try starting a discussion putting {{Tea room|m=April|y=2022}} in the entry, clicking on the + and stating your case. It would be nice to have the opinions of other contributors and users. DCDuring (talk) 14:46, 15 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
I've added a note with {{q}} for the time being. I might make a discussion if this is a large-scale issue, but if it's just for this one entry, probably the note suffices to clear up ambiguity. 70.172.194.25 16:08, 15 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
