"A term that captures the essence of the topic of a document, used as keyword to retrieve documents in an information system, for instance a catalog or a search engine."

I created this from Wikipedia but I now suspect this is incorrect. I would ideally like to see authoritative sources for a definition even if that is contrary to the spirit of WT:ATTEST. In any case, let us not mislead the readers. --Dan Polansky (talk) 13:32, 21 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
