Notes on Italiot-Greek

[edit]

Possible Greek script, with parameters in mind (Parameters: β = v, no breathing marks, τ = (sometimes) d, u = υ or ου, c = κ, ng = γγ) - κασταγνὲα Please check against Griko sources Elliott Dunstan (talk) 17:55, 17 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Elliott Dunstan: The standard Greek spelling is "καστανιά" for chestnut tree, it would be expressed as "καστανέα." Indeed, we find this form in various names throughout the Greek world's dialects. Italiot Greek likes to stay as close as possible to the Ancient/Standard Orthography when writing in Greek. Aearthrise (talk) 04:50, 24 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
