How appropriate is the adjectival classification? The Katzenjammer Kids was just a comic, but there is no everyday usage for Katzenjammer as an adjective. As this is only a recent import from German, it must surely conform to its native part of speech, i.e., a noun.

use of the word

Excessive draughts of the democratic cure-all, swallowed label, cork, testimonials and all, have brought Christendom to bed with Katzenjammer — and there stands the seductive antidote in its leering blue bottles.
