Talk:login

Wa
A Dagaare word which means 'come'
Historical use of the word
[edit]Writing the verb "log in" as one word is a common error--does this merit a usage note?
Another comment: at least historically, login often meant username, rather than the combination of username and password. — This unsigned comment was added by 71.255.142.168 (talk) at 12:49, 25 August 2006 (UTC).
Use as an adjective
[edit]Is 'login' also used as an adjective? Examples would be: 'login page' & 'login details/information' Nunmap (talk) 12:42, 26 April 2022 (UTC)
- Both those seem like open compounds using the noun sense only. In login page, one could say noun sense 2 is being used; similarly in login details, it could be sense 1. —Svārtava (t/u) • 14:20, 26 April 2022 (UTC)
- It took me awhile, but I see what you're saying now. Another example would be mug shot. I learnt something!
- Also I read that "All of the unsigned templates must be substituted." Nunmap (talk) 13:49, 27 April 2022 (UTC)
