I have heard my mother use the phrase "mammocked up," and she pronouced it "mommocked up." This is in Craven Co., NC. (mtslaughter at earthlink dot net)

Shakespeare seems to have used it too; I'll do some searching and see what comes up. Conrad.Irwin 20:37, 21 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

The term "mammocked up" or "beat & mammocked" is a term used in the rural south that means to beat up or damage something or someone in some way that is unacceptable in a civilized society (a Southern euphamism). Someone who has abused or beat up someone or something like an animal or inanimate object. A Middle English dialect that is rapidly dying out especially in the Southeastern USA (NC & SC). I have heard my grandparents use this word many times. They were from Horry Co., SC (SC Lowcountry).
