Metaphonous?

[edit]

@Sarilho1, you recently effected this edit, where you marked the word as metaphonous. However, to the best of my knowledge, the plural of this noun, molhos, is pronounced with /o/, not with /ɔ/. Per Appendix:Portuguese pronunciation#Metaphony, the |meta=1 parameter should be used for nouns where the masculine form has an /o/ but the feminine/plural has an /ɔ/. I do not believe this applies to this word. I have gone ahead and reverted your change, but could you please explain your rationale here? Note that Priberam notes that the plural of molho (sense 2) is indeed with |mô|. Brusquedandelion (talk) 21:32, 21 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
