Competing definitions

[edit]

Before my edit, Wiktionary had:

  1. Spirit of a person or group, sense of ability to accomplish.

After my edit, in which I have taken the definition from Wikipedia, Wiktionary has:

  1. The capacity of people to maintain belief in an institution or a goal, or even in oneself and others.

The first definition also has something to it. The word spirit was invoked in the sense of enthusiasm, if I understand it correctly. --Daniel Polansky 14:52, 17 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
