Etymology

[edit]

Hi, @AryamanA, Mahagaja, if you have time could you check if the Bengali, Marathi, Sanskrit and Urdu words in the etymology are correct? (Also, out of curiosity, I wondered if there is any connection between this word and Sanskrit मुख्य (mukhya, chief). The OED (updated March 2003) does not say anything about this.) — SGconlaw (talk) 18:58, 18 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, I know nothing about modern Indic languages. —Mahāgaja · talk 19:58, 18 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
