The etymology of the Swedish word narkoman seems to be wrong: it looks more like a folk etymology. The pronuncation of the word as indicated on the Swedish wiktionary narko'ma:n shows that the 'man' part/suffix of the word is in fact Greek and not Swedish/Germanic. If the 'man' was the Swedish/ Germanic word for 'man' there'd be a short /a/ in it... For the Greek etymology see here: https://el.wiktionary.org/wiki/ναρκομανής For another word with the same -man Swedish pyroman. These words probably didn't come into Swedish directly via Greek, see here: https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/narcomania (these words are probably all learned coinages from the 18th ct.)
