Middle High German nemen ???

Why did you revert this informantion Middle High German nemen is Modern German: nehmen, to take, nimm - take, genommen (taken, took) . Also Gothic should be listed before Old High German, because it was written down (ca 500 AD) before OHG, before Anglo Saxon, before Old English. Just why did you take out M.H.G. nemen??? Wondering (50.173.166.172 23:21, 22 May 2014 (UTC))Reply

Old High German and modern German were already listed. It didn't make sense to list Middle High German as well, especially not in the place you put it. The list isn't meant to be a complete list of all cognates, just a selection of them to give some idea. And the cognates are generally listed in order of relatedness: Gothic is the most distantly related to Old English out of all Germanic languages, so it goes last. —CodeCat 23:25, 22 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
