Etymology

Could it be Pharos or Pharus + -ensis, hence having a meaning like phariacus and pharius which is 1. Pharian and 2. (poetically) metonymically Egyptian, which is different from pharaoh (attributive) and pharaonic? -84.161.10.140 21:34, 8 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
