I'm a new user here, so I ask for your patience in advance, but this definition seems a bit short on the details. While the aggressiveness of the breed is frequently cited by those less experienced with the breed, owners, veterinarians and trainers would likely object to this discription. I suggest "noted for their strength, determination, and tolerance of pain" might be more neutral.

We tend to document misconceptions rather than correct them. Encyclopedias are better at that. However, I am not sure that "pit bull terrier" is used this way. The phrase "pit bull" is the one associated with the publicised incidents. DCDuring TALK 11:17, 12 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
