Isn't pomme also the usual word for potato, with the more specific term pomme de terre only being used when necessary? Hippietrail 05:39, 28 Mar 2004 (UTC)
pomme is the usual word for apple and pomme de terre or patate (familiar) is the one for potato. And pommes frites or just frites is the word for French fries. Marc Mongenet 17:15, 2 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
