Regarding "sie" as an English word: Looking up "sie" in German, I was surprised to see the English entry. Is this obsolete or current? Two of the definitions say "dialect" but the others don't. I've never heard it before, and it doesn't show up at cambridge.org or dictionary.com... Wikinetman (talk) 01:09, 13 November 2023 (UTC)

Sie in German meaning "you"[edit]
Wictionary helped me by explaining how "sie ist" could mean either "she is" or "it is." "Sie sind" here was translated as "they are." But isn't "sie sind" also a polite way of saying "you are"? Egmonster (talk) 21:11, 1 November 2018 (UTC)
- That sense is under Sie with a capital S (so it's Sie sind which means "you are". Mischief Knight (talk) 21:40, 1 November 2018 (UTC)
