re definition given for Noun slew: "A large number."

I'm thinking, wouldn't "A large quantity" or amount be more correct? -- OlEnglish 17:52, 17 April 2010 (UTC)

Etym2[edit]

Is "slay" really derived from "slue"? Or the other way around? Im specifically thinking of the etymology that says "slew (n)" is merely a spelling variant of slue, even when it seems to be derived from slay. I would think it more likely that the two words crossed paths. Soap (talk) 18:25, 19 July 2015 (UTC)
