spelling

[edit]

just a note. google ngrams says the bunched spelling is more common, but many of the recent hits are for nonliteral uses, e.g. a program (probably related to SOAP), a character's nickname, the name of a horse, and the name of a novel. Literal uses are in there, to be sure, but with the spaced spelling the literal uses predominate whereas with the bunched spelling i'd say they make up less than half of the corpus, at least for recent uses in ngrams.
