The plural had this usage note, but there is no proper definition.
- Origin believed to have been from the Red Light area of Cairo where the diggers served! The Australian troops in WWI rioted in the area by way of revolt at the charges of the prostitutes and the belief that they were deliberately giving them sexually transmitted diseases
