"{ I wish to determine if the term "tandum" when referring to the wheels of a bicycle, is defined as the front wheel and rear wheel are in "tandum" and therefore on the same thrust angle. Furthermore does "tandum" mean the rear wheel will track on a identical centerline as the front wheel when the vehicle is traveling in a straight line. The term "tandum" is used in the Arizona Revised Statute to define a "electric personel mobility device". In this case "non tandum" wheels in conjunction with "self balancing" and "speed limited" to 15mph, is the definition of "electric personel mobility device". The Segway (reg.trade mark) clearly fits into this catagory, with little else, however the possability of other dissimiliar vehicles which meet these restrictions does exist and would therefore be legal within the boundry's of the law. This is my goal. To produce a legal vehicle which would not be classifiable as a "motorized skateboard" (read illegal) but as a "electric personel mobility device". I wish to declair that for the purpous of a legal definition in reference to such vehicles that "tandum" means "directly inline with one another on the same center line and track, with there axles paralell". }" KGR 3-28-07
