One b.g.c. hit. --Connel MacKenzie 01:54, 22 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know if it counts as a word - you can stick just about any swear-word half way through any observation to add emphasis, but I don't think it's dictionary-worthy. RobbieG 14:39, 23 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
This is an example of tmesis. Obviously it could also be written with a g: unbefuckinglievable. Or with freaking: unbefreakinlievable. Or with frigging: unbefrigginlievable. These intensifying infixes may be applied in front of the accented syllable of almost any other polysyllabic word (unifuckinversity, encyclofuckingpaedia), but unbefuckinlievable (with or without g) is probably the most common of all. While the word itself may not be worthy of inclusion, the construction certainly is...the problem is how to include it so that someone who wants to know the name of the device (tmesis)j, or the semantic logic that dictates where to insert the intensifier, or (in the case of foreigners) what these words mean, will be able to find the information readily. —Stephen 15:16, 23 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Put the info at -fuckin- as an English infix. DAVilla 23:25, 25 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I agree --Enginear 22:15, 26 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Would that simply amount to a usage note at fuck? Would the redirect be retained then (to prevent it from resurfacing as a full entry)? --Connel MacKenzie 06:42, 28 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well, cited anyways. The older ones tend to be hyphenated, it seems, and dropping the "g" is even more recent. But the span is only like three decades. DAVilla 21:53, 3 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I think it should be kept with a usage note to the talk page. No decision on the word itself, but am moving the discussion to the talk page and the this to May's talk for more views. Andrew massyn 16:13, 5 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
