Not a word[edit]

'Unconfident' is not a word, this page needs to be removed or changed so it states that one should use 'Lacking in confidence' or 'not confident'. --Benpaul12 01:30, 1 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

It is indeed a word; google books:"unconfident" finds hundreds of hits. —RuakhTALK 01:33, 1 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
It's just very very rare but is attestable. JamesjiaoT C 01:34, 1 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, upon posting this comment I looked it up. Possibly would we say on the page that the term is rarely used because of how bad it sounds? I understand that Wiktionary is not a grammar guide. --Benpaul12 01:43, 1 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

We can mark it as rare, but we can't state that it sounds bad unless we have evidence to support the claim. —RuakhTALK 01:55, 1 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
