Is this really a word? Can we have some citations please? — Hippietrail 09:37, 26 Mar 2005 (UTC)

"The whole body of water, rushing crookedly into the narrow passage, accelerated its speed frightfully, and was upflung unto huge waves, white and wrathful." Smoke Below Chapter IV - Jack London SemperBlotto 10:49, 26 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Beautiful! Thanks for finding that (: — Hippietrail 11:12, 26 Mar 2005 (UTC)
I added one more. This word is an ordinary English word, with its own entry in upflung”, in Webster’s Revised Unabridged Dictionary, Springfield, Mass.: G. & C. Merriam, 1913, →OCLC.. Why did you have any doubts about it? I am learning English and I would hardly encounter this word in the average US movie, but lo! Dante Gabriel Rossetti made usae thereof, which proves its existence in the vocabulary of the English language and complete æquality with any members of its members soever.
