I'm not sure how to define it, but Wage is also a verb. I've only seen it used in the form "to wage war", I wouldn't know if one could "wage" anything else. Maybe a native English speaker could provide a definition for the verb form?
The Dutch translation is: "voeren" (to wage war = oorlog voeren)

This word was used in the same way as German wagen, and seems to actually be a cognate of this word. Is there evidence that it came instead from the French word indicated? or was the French word originally taken from DE wagen, and then retaken into English? 18.104.22.168 02:10, 25 June 2015 (UTC)
