Wikipedia link redirects to National HIV/AIDS Clinicians' Consultation Center (NCCC), which isn't encouraging. It suggests this should be Warmline, which almost certainly wouldn't meet. CFI. Mglovesfun (talk) 12:11, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Warmline definition[edit]

I don't understand what the issue is. Every time I try to update this page it gets erased. A warmline is a very specific type of telephone assistance. It is not simply a phone line for non emergencies. It is specifically for mental health and it is specifically staffed by peers rather than licensed clinicians. Not only is it frustrating that this page keeps getting erased but it is unhelpful for people with mental health issues. Many people do no know about these resources. While it is not for crises warmlines can assist individuals with their symptoms to help get through the night. Proximah (talk) 09:36, 19 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Your definition is a more specialized version of the general sense, which you keep obliterating. If you were to add it as a subsense, that might be okay- but not every use of the term fits your definition. It's not helpful to tell someone who has used a warmline geared toward giving information about AIDS symptoms or breastfeeding that they have mental health issues.
