Usage
[edit]This template may be used on Wiktionary entry pages to quote Samuel Foote's work The Lame Lover (1st edition, 1770). It can be used to create a link to an online version of the work at the Internet Archive.
Parameters
[edit]The template takes the following parameters:
|chapter=– if quoting the prologue, specify|chapter=Prologue. As the prologue is unpaginated, use|1=or|page=to specify the "page number" assigned by the Internet Archive to the URL of the webpage to be linked to. For example, if the URL ishttps://archive.org/details/lamelovercomedyi00footiala/page/n10/mode/1up, specify|page=10.|act=– mandatory in some cases: in most cases, if the page number is specified, the template will determine the act number (I–III) quoted from. However, this is not possible if page 28 is quoted from, in which case either|act=Ior|act=IImust be specified.

|2=,|text=, or|passage=– a passage quoted from the work.|footer=– a comment on the passage quoted.|brackets=– use|brackets=onto surround a quotation with brackets. This indicates that the quotation either contains a mere mention of a term (for example, "some people find the word manoeuvre hard to spell") rather than an actual use of it (for example, "we need to manoeuvre carefully to avoid causing upset"), or does not provide an actual instance of a term but provides information about related terms.
