Usage
[edit]This template may be used on Wiktionary entry pages to quote John Ray's work Observations Topographical, Moral, & Physiological; Made in a Journey through part of the Low-countries, Germany, Italy, and France (1st edition, 1673). It can be used to create a link to an online version of the work at the Internet Archive.
Parameters
[edit]The template takes the following parameters:
|author=– the name of an author of a chapter of the work other than John Ray.|1=or|chapter=– the name of the chapter quoted from. If quoting from one of the chapters indicated in the second column of the following table, give the parameter the value indicated in the first column:

- As the above chapters in the 1st edition are unpaginated, use
|2=or|page=to specify the "page number" assigned by the Internet Archive to the URL of the webpage to be linked to. For example, if the URL ishttps://archive.org/details/observationstopo00rayj/page/n10/mode/1up, specify|page=10.
|entry=– if quoting from an entry in the "Catalogus stirpium", use this parameter to specify the name of the entry quoted. If quoting from the "Præfatio", specify|entry=Praefatio. As it is unpaginated, use|2=or|page=to specify the "page number" assigned by the Internet Archive to the URL of the webpage to be linked to as described above.|year=– the year when the chapter quoted from is not 1673, the year of publication of the entire work.|2=or|page=, or|pages=– mandatory in some cases: the page number(s) quoted from.
