Usage
[edit]This template may be used in Wiktionary entries to format quotations from Horace Walpole's work Anecdotes of Painting in England (1st edition, 1762–1771, 5 volumes). It can be used to create a link to online versions of the work at the Internet Archive:

If quoting from a chapter indicated in the second column of the following table, give the parameter the value indicated in the first column:

- As the appendices are unpaginated, use
|3=or|page=to specify the "page number" assigned by the Internet Archive to the URL of the webpage to be linked to. For example, if the URL ishttps://archive.org/details/anecdotesofpaint01walp_4/page/n222/mode/1up, specify|page=222.

The pagination in the chapters "Additional Lives to the First Edition of Anecdotes of Painting in England" (volume III), and "The Life of Mr. George Vertue" and "List of Vertue's Works" (A Catalogue of Engravers) indicated in the table above restart from 1. Thus, the name of the chapter must be specified as indicated for the template to link correctly to the online versions of the work.
