This is Module:grc-pronunciation & Module:grc-pronunciation/data
  • TEST MEDIEVAL with only the two lines, no Hide/Show »» at table Template gkm-IPA
  • TODO check some clusters like ks ps zm (do not break), and initial μπ ντ γκ b d g .
  • TO CHECK τζ in med (med2) is doube IPA: either t͡s or d͡z

ALL TESTS, problems, etc, at Template:User:Sarri.greek/grk-IPA-mod

Here, options of combinations are place in a table

  • with a title
  • (med1, med2 & el=default -cannot take off el-)
  • or med2 el
  • Note-cell for each line (have not done for el) and it does not work well

NEED: Editor must be able to override manually an IPA (especially med2, el). If not, we cannot have med2 or el.

  • because of synizesis which is not predictable, probably at med1 too.

Mark the vowel length for 5th century Attic of the ambiguous vowel α by adding a macron after it if it is long, or a breve if it is short. By default, Module:grc-pronunciation assumes it is short if unmarked.

  • If i type Latin letters it just skips them, with no comment.
  • ks ps I think, together (must confirm. {{R:gkm:Grammar Cambridge}} gives ks, ps), not k.s and p.s Of course, in composition εν συνθέσει they are written our κσ (εκστρατεία) (know not of πσ...)
    at module (if ξ / ψ then clusters k and p must have + s no split)
  • check μβ = mv need to confirm mv, but I don't see how they could say mb in 10th century. They would have written it with μπ already?
  • γχ (as per Modern pronuncation) many people write it wrongly as ɲ.ç , thinking that ç affects the nasal, but it does not. Correct is ŋ.ç. Mackrdigde has it. And I personally went and talked to people at the phonetic lab of Athens University, asked them to write for me εγχείριση, and they use ŋ.ç. Flyax has been correcting this since 2007 and a note is placed at Appendix:Greek pronunciation. Assuming that the same happens in 15th century, also 10th? CambGrammar does not say. But I have to read again the whole chapter.

problems

[edit]
  • I tried to do tables with wikitable {| , also have tried with pipes like {{!}}

Also I have tried with div
But failed. I hate talbes from modules: cannot see them, cannot put things in them.
