This page contains usage information, categories, interwiki links and other content describing the template.

Usage[edit]

Use this template for the following special cases of back-vowel Hungarian nominals ending in a consonant and using -ok for plural:

  • the word ends in two identical consonants and the case endings that start with the same consonant are attached by a hyphen (this rule applies only to proper nouns):
    Neumann →‎ Neumann-nak, Neumann-nál
  • the word has two accusative variants (both variants will be displayed separated by a new line).
  • a vowel is dropped in essive-modal case:
fogoly (captive) →‎ foglyul (the -o- is dropped and -ul is added)
  • the word ends in -i pronounced [j] and it requires an extra vowel in the superessive case (-on); for example thai - thaion; the regular case suffix would be -n, such as in kocsi - kocsin

For any other case, use {{hu-infl-nom}}.

The template is added under the ====Declension==== header.

Unnamed parameters[edit]

the word without the last two identical consonants if hyphen is needed to attach case suffixes, otherwise the word without the last consonant
2=

Named parameters[edit]

sup=
an irregular superessive case form; the inflected word minus the -n ending
ul=

esm_sg2=
