This template is intended for taxonomic names for which English Wiktionary has an entry with the appropriate Translingual 'language' section. If rank name is approximately correct, it is intended to provide the appropriate formatting. (But ALL taxonomic names for viruses and prokarotes (archaea and bacteria) follow different rules and require "i=1".)

If use of {{taxfmt}} leaves the taxonomic name red, ie, if there is no Wiktionary entry, replace {{taxfmt}} with {{taxlink}}.
