Superseded, pre-{{{2}}} spelling of [[#Tagalog|]].

This template is used to mark Tagalog spellings that are superseded under spelling reforms by the Komisyon sa Wikang Filipino (KWF), such as those outlined on the 2014 Manwal sa Masinop na Pagsulat (MMP). Details on the spelling conventions can be found at Appendix:Tagalog spellings.

The template takes one parameters: the official form in effect, and year the spelling is deprecated. For example {{tl-superseded form of||2012}} indicates the spelling is deprecated 2012.

This template should be used with conjunction with these usage note templates:

  • {{U:tl:es Spanish borrowing spelling}} - spellings of Spanish loanwords with the es changed to is. Deprecated in 2014.
  • {{U:tl:W or Y following double consonant}} - spellings that do not observe the rule of adding a w or y between a double vowel cluster with an i or u following a double consonant cluster, where they are subsituted for y and w respectively. In effect in between 1977 and 1987, and 2007 to present.
  • {{U:tl:O before M and following K}} - spellings that do not observe the rule on retaining o in a word with a k and m. Introduced 2014
  • {{U:tl:proscribed spellings}} - general template, though generally used for triphthongs covered with the above.
