Why brackets? Conrad.Irwin 14:03, 3 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

accept codes[edit]

Can we use {{langname}} or something so that this will accept codes?—msh210 19:23, 4 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

oblique[edit]

Since this edit, the template has been completely oblique, and there's no documentation. Any objection to reverting it to the version before that edit? is there any function it serves now that it did not serve then, or added feature it has now that it hadn't then?—msh210 (talk) 20:51, 4 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hm, yes, one added feature it now has is a tr parameter for transliterations — but it does those badly, putting them outside the use-with-mention. If we revert as I suggest, then we should add a tr parameter (and do it right).—msh210 (talk) 20:55, 4 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

I intend to make it more like other form of templates, for example on БТР (BTR) it puts the whole thing in italics, not in bold, including when sc=Cyrl is used. --Mglovesfun (talk) 11:51, 9 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Lacking formatting options[edit]

At Mrs you can the the lacking formatting options:

Abbreviation of Missus or Mistress (“used before an adult woman's name or surname, used for any high-status woman without regard to marital status until the 1800s, after which it began to be reserved for married, divorced and widowed women and used with their married surnames”)

  1. No way to show two terms instead of one, each in bold.
  2. Can't show a non-gloss definition, i.e. without parentheses (although can use |nodot=1 and write it down outside of the template).
