@Erutuon, if I want to take multiple terms as input in this templet, then what should be done? Also, align="centre" seems not to be working, so please fix that as well. Thank you! ·~ dictátor·mundꟾ 16:17, 28 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Inqilābī: That's because HTML doesn't use British spelling. ;-) But align="center" is deprecated in favor of CSS. — Eru·tuon 17:30, 28 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
I don't know how to make a template create a variable number of table cells depending on the number of numbered parameters. It would be easier to do in a module. But to clarify, what additional features is this template meant to have over a manually written out list with {{alt}}? — Eru·tuon 17:35, 28 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Erutuon: Thanks for fixing it. Why I have created this templet is because I would like to distinguish alternative spellings from alternative forms. Such a distinction is actually fitting for Bengali because multiple spellings are equally common in literature (both contemporarily and historically): Bengali lacks some sounds, which are nevertheless represented in the alphabet since it uses the Sanskritic orthography; the needless letters being ঈ, ঊ, স, ষ, ং etc. Furthermore, ্ is not consistently employed to suppress a vowel sound. Learned borrowings from Sanskrit naturally use the original Sanskrit spelling, while the spelling of inherited words and semi-learned borrowings tend to be influenced by that of the Sanskrit prototype/etymon (albeit inconsistently). Likewise, adstrate words (from Persian, Perso-Arabic, English, etc.) are also (inconsistently) influenced by the etymon’s orthography. Since Bengali has had no spelling reform, several orthographic variants are used side by side; therefore, it would be better to group them together and highlight them in a table, so as to keep them apart from the genuine alternative forms. Orthographic variants would have no transliteration (tr=-). If possible, please do it in a module; I would appreciate that! ·~ dictátor·mundꟾ 20:02, 28 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Erutuon: Please do this for me by way of a module! ·~ dictátor·mundꟾ 16:48, 8 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
Hi @Svartava, since you are an expert of templates, could you please make this (unborn) template similar to {{th-alt}}? (The text displayed would be ‘Alternative spellings’.) Thanks in advance. (Ignore the previous instructions atop.) ·~ dictátor·mundꟾ 11:26, 20 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
