Deletion debate[edit]

The following information has failed Wiktionary's deletion process.

It should not be re-entered without careful consideration.

Template:causative form of[edit]

Not used anywhere. Might someday find a better use, but I doubt it, or it would've been in use already. —CodeCat 14:51, 9 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

  • My talk page comment was "Not used anywhere, could conceivably be deleted. Unless it can be used, within reason.". I stand by that, I don't mind unused templates if they can potentially be used. For this one, I don't know. Mglovesfun (talk) 15:03, 9 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
Note that there already is {{causative of}} which does the same thing. —CodeCat 15:43, 9 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
I think they could be merged then, since causative form of use {{form of}} but causative of doesn't. Delete the redirect afterwards (bad entry title). Mglovesfun (talk) 18:23, 9 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
How would I go about merging? Sounds like it's a wiki feature I didn't know about. —CodeCat 19:18, 9 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
Essentially you rename Template:causative form of to Template:causative of, delete the page to make way for the move, then restore all versions. You have to be a sysop to do it because of the deletion/restoration. Mglovesfun (talk) 05:40, 10 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
That's what I've done with the redirect deleted. Sorry for not saying so earlier. Mglovesfun (talk) 16:44, 20 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
Stricken, then. —CodeCat 18:38, 20 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
