Broken
[edit]For what it's worth, there's something wrong with the template code here - in the main namespace it displays as:
- class="noprint" style="background:#FFF8CC; margin-top:.5em; margin-bottom:.5em; border:solid 1px gray" cellpadding="10"
and in other namespaces it displays as:
- {
See e.g. the end of the intro paragraph at Wiktionary:Protologisms. 81.142.107.230 14:58, 22 September 2011 (UTC)
- I've made it display correctly (but not by changing the template). SemperBlotto 15:00, 22 September 2011 (UTC)
- I've fixed the template (though I agree with those who say it should be deleted). —RuakhTALK 15:26, 22 September 2011 (UTC)
Deletion debate
[edit]The following information has failed Wiktionary's deletion process.
It should not be re-entered without careful consideration.
How could this ever be used in a productive way? FWIW I've set it up only to work outside the main namespace. --Mglovesfun (talk) 16:24, 4 May 2011 (UTC)
- ¶ Supprimer ! It could have been used as a warning for users who were about to re‐creäte such pages, but administrators can simply leave short notes sayïng why such pages were deleted anyway. This template is hardly necessary. --Pilcrow 16:39, 4 May 2011 (UTC)
- It seems to be broken anyway: see Template talk:protologism. 81.142.107.230 15:02, 22 September 2011 (UTC)
- I've fixed it. Mglovesfun's attempt to "set it up only to work outside the main namespace" did not work the way he intended. (You can't put the {| … |} table syntax inside a parser-function, because the pipes get interpreted as separating parser-function arguments. You have to either use HTML syntax, <table>…</table>, or else do annoying stuff with

- Delete. A protologism can be either speedy-deleted or sent to RFV, where it fails. --Dan Polansky 09:34, 6 October 2011 (UTC)
