Plural[edit]

In the actual version of the template, one must provide the plural form in the "pl" parameter else it's written plural stem + [plural ending], although almost all PS noun entries don't provide this parameter (e.g. *kabkab-). To avoid that all those entries show this, can someone modify the template so that, if no "pl" parameter is given, the plural stem is by default identical to the singular stem ? @Metaknowledge @Erutuon. @Malku H₂n̥rés: Your pings don't go through if they are not accompanied by a new signature. In any case, I designed this feature of the template on purpose; in most cases, we are not certain of the plural stem, and it would be mistruthful to claim that it's the same as the singular stem by default. In fact, given that traces of internal plural formation are found in all major branches, it is parsimonious to assume that it was normal in PS (as this template does reconstruct for feminine nouns in *-at), and that the plural stem was quite possibly distinct from the singular stem more often than not. —Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 18:59, 12 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Metaknowledge ok thank you for your answer. Just in case, in the occurences where we're certain of the plural stem, are there regular sound laws underpinning plural-stem formation so that using Regular Expressions some of these cases could be filled ? @Malku H₂n̥rés: Except for plurals in *-at, which are already handled, no. —Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 00:58, 14 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
