Лукашенко, etc.

[edit]

@Benwing2: Hi. This type of surnames has dual gender. The feminine forms are indeclinable. Same with any surnames ending in consonants, like -ук, -як.

-ський, -цький surnames are declined like adjectives. --Anatoli T. (обсудить/вклад) 02:36, 16 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Atitarev I tried to fix up the headword. The way you listed it made it seem like the feminine was declinable. Benwing2 (talk) 02:43, 16 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Benwing2: Thank you. It's better this way. --Anatoli T. (обсудить/вклад) 03:12, 16 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Almost done converting nouns

[edit]

There are only a few nouns left that use the manual templates; some of them require fixes to Module:uk-noun. I'm gradually working on eliminating these cases. Benwing2 (talk) 02:43, 16 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Documentation almost complete

[edit]

@Atitarev The documentation is close to being complete. Let me know if you see anything missing. Benwing2 (talk) 05:32, 21 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Benwing2: Thank you, I will. So far, so good. Great job! --Anatoli T. (обсудить/вклад) 11:14, 21 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Two new cases

[edit]

Hi,

I have added two mare cases for you, sorry :)

Івано́в (Ivanóv) is an example of a typical (ending and declension type) Russian surname used in Ukrainian. As you can imagine there are a lot of Russians in Ukraine and the other way around. he surnames have their peculiarities but you have covered most of cases already.

Also, something goes wrong at да́ні (dáni) - headword and declension. Please take a look. I saved the entry with the issue, hopefully it's OK. --Anatoli T. (обсудить/вклад) 08:26, 25 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Nouns ending with -ця

[edit]

The vocative forms of feminine nouns ending with -ця (дівиця, учениця, праця) are correcty given the -е ending. However, the module automatically triggers the first palatalization, even though the word doesn't end with a velar consonant, thus showing the incorrect "дівиче, учениче, праче" instead of "дівице, ученице, праце". -- Underfell Flowey (talk) 07:24, 15 June 2021 (UTC)Reply

Nouns ending with -рь

[edit]

@Benwing2: ...will automatically get corrected into ending with -р with a <soft> parameter. Many dialects, however, either preserve -рь (царь) or replace the final -р with a soft one (сахарь). --Underfell Flowey (talk) 17:52, 28 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Soft neuter nouns

[edit]

@Benwing2: Neuter nouns do not have a vocative, but soft neuter nouns (in -це) are analyzed by the module to have the vocative -че for some reason --Underfell Flowey (talk) 16:05, 27 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
