Etymology[edit]

Compound of tuta (“protution; point”) +‎ rydh (“clearing”), probably referring to the hill the church is located upon. First attested in 1406.[1]

  1. A parish of Sunnerbo hundred, Finnveden; later in Ljungby municipality, Kronoberg county, Sweden; today's Tutaryd.
