[edit]uosuka- + -(i)nen, either from a Germanic diminutive Uozo of Old High German Uodalrich, which could have yielded a Karelian vernacular form Uosukka, or the same Karelian form could instead derive from a diminutive form of Russian Василий (Vasilij).[1]
