Nonexhaustive list of synanagrams (synonymous anagrams)
[edit]alphainferior synanagram | alphasuperior synanagram | subclass | comments |
---|---|---|---|

anteroposterior | posteroanterior | synanagrammatocontronyms | Each is a synanagrammatocontronym (synanagrammatic contronym) of the other because in a broad sense it is synonymous in that it is collinearly coincident (that is, lying on the same axis [↔]) but in a narrower sense it is a 180° vector reversal (that is, from-front-toward-back [→] versus from-back-toward-front [←]). |
buccogingival | gingivobuccal | This subclass is probably too trivial to bother collating (whereas the count of members is probably in the hundreds, maybe thousands), although it would be idly interesting to see a list of them all in one place; but such a list could be generated with a bot or script using anagram computation, rather than manual collation. In contrast, I find the synanagrammatocontronymic subclass both especially interesting and worth manually collating (sometime, or over time [incidentally]). | |
lateromedial | mediolateral | synanagrammatocontronyms | Each is a synanagrammatocontronym (synanagrammatic contronym) of the other because in a broad sense it is synonymous in that it is collinearly coincident (that is, lying on the same axis [↔]) but in a narrower sense it is a 180° vector reversal (that is, from-side-toward-middle [→] versus from-middle-toward-side [←]). |

Special cases adjacent to synanagrammatism
[edit]The English-language pair of agritourism and agriturismo is not synanagrammatic, because the English word agriturismo refers to a farm engaged in agritourism (but is not synonymous with agritourism), although the Italian word agriturismo translates as both the activity and the accommodation where it happens.
