Your audios
[edit]Hello. You record your audios with the RP accent, right? Sometimes you do mark it as such, but mostly you have been marking it as UK. So the point is, you should be consistent in marking your audios. Received Pronunciation is a subset of British accents, the two are not synonymous—so you have to suitably choose between using either of these, and stick to one. One ought to use “UK” only if when unsure of one’s specific accent (or dialect). Thanks. -⸘- inqilābī ‹inqilāb·zinda·bād› 22:31, 16 January 2021 (UTC)
- The problem was, I used to think RP meant "posh accent". Alexfromiowa (talk) 22:48, 16 January 2021 (UTC)
- Another problem is that I'm a pretty sloppy editor Alexfromiowa (talk) 22:50, 16 January 2021 (UTC)
- Another problem is that I'm not allowed to run a bot to fix all of them Alexfromiowa (talk) 22:51, 16 January 2021 (UTC)
- Another problem is I don't want to reveal where I'm really from, for fear of my wiki-life and my real life colliding Alexfromiowa (talk) 22:56, 16 January 2021 (UTC)

- Truth is, I spent my whole life travelling the world, and never got a real accent. Alexfromiowa (talk) 22:59, 16 January 2021 (UTC)
- Wow, I can ken hence that you are suffering from a personal linguistic crisis. Even your clown counterpart Charlie spent most of his life outside Britain, his homeland, and yet he had a distinct London accent (cf. Charlie speaking with his own accent vs. Charlie speaking in a gibberish European language). Therefor, you might want to mention the accent or dialect of your hometown… as either the specific name, or simply “UK” if you be not sure. However, if you actually be using the RP in your audios (irrespective of what your actual accent / lect is), then you should really mark it as such. -⸘- inqilābī ‹inqilāb·zinda·bād› 18:21, 17 January 2021 (UTC)
- We can hire a bot to tag 'em as UK, I'm cool with that. Alexfromiowa (talk) 18:49, 17 January 2021 (UTC)
- But can a bot distinguish between WF’s audios and other audios marked “RP”? And also, as I asked you before, were you not imitating RP accent?— if so these are validly marked anyway… Otherwise, please do not feel shy to reveal your place of origin!!— you can specify the toponym in your audios: and that would be very helpful and much appreciated! (Anyways, how do you like your similarities with Charlie?) -⸘- inqilābī ‹inqilāb·zinda·bād› 19:12, 18 January 2021 (UTC)
- nah, the bot doesn't listen, lol. The bot can tag all as UK, or RP, or whatever Alexfromiowa (talk) 19:38, 18 January 2021 (UTC)
- Disappointed that you are not considering a’ o’ my askings, but anyway, could you kindly look for Wundefoo’s audios marked as RP by yourself an’ fix ’em all? You are the only person who can do this conveniently, for you would be knowing at what point of time you had tagged which audio wherewithal, and furthermore, since your contributions are split between multiple accounts, you can readily outfind ’em as well! Thanks for considering! -⸘- inqilābī ‹inqilāb·zinda·bād› 18:23, 21 January 2021 (UTC)
- Sorry, I'm not going to do it. I'm not going to be editing much in the foreseeable future. Alexfromiowa (talk) 21:40, 21 January 2021 (UTC)

@DCDuring Thanks very much. Sorry for being a douche about it. Also, don't forget to disallow talk-page editing. Alexfromiowa (talk) 23:57, 25 January 2021 (UTC)
