Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to Wiktionary. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wiktionarian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk (discussion) and vote pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~, which automatically produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the beer parlour or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome! --EncycloPetey 23:45, 8 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Um, I think you mean ===References===, not ===Etymology===.

But if you are giving the location where the information may be found, then it's a reference. A Wiktionary Etymology section should explain in text the origin of a word. See mondegreen for an example that might help you. The odd plural form is the default for using the {{en-noun}} template. To see what to do when the default isn't what is desired, see the Talk page for that template, which has all the documentation. --EncycloPetey 23:52, 8 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
