Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wiktionary. Thank you for your contributions. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here! By the way, you can sign your comments on talk (discussion) pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~, which automatically produces your name (or IP number if you're not signed in) and the current date and time. If you have any questions, then see the help pages, add a question to one of the discussion rooms or ask me on my talk page.—msh210 21:03, 28 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

According to your user page this is an account held by an entire class. It may be better to create an account for each student so that each person's contributions are attributable individually, and so that other editors can communicate with individuals as necessary.—msh210 16:36, 5 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

You're right, it would be better, but my students aren't keen on doing that, I'm afraid. So we're working on synonyms and translations in class using a traditional blackboard, and I enter them here. It's mainly about showing them the limitations of traditional dictionaries, and how the reality of language use is much bigger than what's ever been recorded. CvL11c 12:25, 7 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

That's nasty! You will have to get rid of those brackets and commas and put any gloss outside of the curly brackets. SemperBlotto 11:32, 7 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, I don't know what you mean. Can you do one for me? CvL11c 12:20, 7 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
