eo forms[edit]

The template is {{new eo form}} not {{new eo-form-of}}. --Yair rand 18:16, 12 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I know. I just fixed it. Thanks for pointing it out! Razorflame 18:18, 12 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Maybe you should get a full batch of forms that worked before requesting a bot flag. Some of the ones cirwin deleted also were missing |'s in them. --Yair rand 18:37, 12 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Ok. Do you want me to finish running the bot for dekori? Razorflame 18:43, 12 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, that would probably be the best. Maybe just do some of them first and then check if they worked before doing the rest. --Yair rand 18:45, 12 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
That's exactly what I did. By the way, you know anything about pronunciations for Esperanto? Razorflame 18:56, 12 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, but I don't think the bot could add them automatically, if that's what you're thinking. Some of the combinations with j and ŭ aren't that simple. See w:Esperanto phonology. --Yair rand 19:02, 12 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Ok then. I see. He's finished adding all the forms of dekori now, in case you want to look them over and make sure that they are correct. Razorflame 19:04, 12 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Do you know if the bot works where some of the forms are already done or where some of the pages already have words in other languages? Will this need a separate test? --Yair rand 19:06, 12 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I did a quick check through the forms and they look correct. None of them are in Category:Esperanto words needing attention so the base/suffix combinations are all correct. --Yair rand 19:10, 12 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
This bot works were all of the forms are already made and the stem that I type in when I run eomake.py, it automatically makes all the entries using the stem. For example, I typed in dekor as the stem for dekori because the stem automatically is inserted into the entry for each of the verb forms like so:
{{subst:new eo form|{STEM}|ata}}
So it correctly makes the forms. Razorflame 19:12, 12 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Do you have a separate program for intransitive verbs, so that it doesn't add passive participles? --Yair rand 19:18, 12 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No, but I am going to make one shortly. I just need you to tell me which endings he shouldn't add. Also, I got my bot working on Ido plurals, and it works correctly. Razorflame 19:20, 12 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
All the ones that are hidden in eo-conj when intr=yes. Basically all that don't have n before the t. And I don't really see the need for io plurals if there's only one form. You could just ask cirwin to accelerate it. --Yair rand 19:23, 12 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I've already got it working, so might as well go for it, but yeah, cirwin could probably accelerate it. By the way, do you think it would be possible to make a category get placed on all the Esperanto verbs that are intransitive? Razorflame 19:25, 12 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Certainly it's possible, just by adding {{#ifeq: {{{intr}}}|yes|[[Category:Esperanto intransitive verbs]]}} to {{eo-conj}} but I don't think another category should be added if it can be avoided. --Yair rand 19:28, 12 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I've made new code for intransitive verbs. I'll give it a shot to see if it works right now. Cheers, Razorflame 19:30, 12 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Any particular reason -as and -is are listed twice in the code? --Yair rand 19:31, 12 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No. It was a mistake. I'll remove it now. Razorflame 19:32, 12 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Test run for intransitive verbs. kompliki was the verb I chose. Did it do what it was supposed to? Razorflame 19:33, 12 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Looks like it but are you sure kompliki is intransitive? --Yair rand 19:35, 12 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. I am pretty sure it is. Razorflame 19:35, 12 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Scratch that. I think its' transitive. Hold on. Razorflame 19:36, 12 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Better just leave it like for the duration of the vote so everyone can see that it didn't add the passive participles. --Yair rand 19:39, 12 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yep. I figured that out already ;). Cheers, Razorflame 19:42, 12 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Are bot votes supposed to last one week? Di gama bot's vote lasted 2 1/2 weeks. --Yair rand 19:48, 12 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Actually Dawnraybot's vote lasted only one week. Never mind. --Yair rand 19:49, 12 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I think generally bot-runners are supposed to add a link to their bot userpage from their main userpage and vice-versa. --Yair rand 19:52, 12 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Done. Added a link both here and on my userpage. Razorflame 22:37, 12 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Great. Are the forms of administri being done to test whether it can do forms which already have other-language entries? If not, you should probably wait until it gets a bot flag because it really clogs the recent changes. BTW, are you going to set up a "feed me" page like there are for the other inflection bots? --Yair rand 22:43, 12 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
What does setting up a "feed me" option entail? Don't worry, I'm just making sporadic test edits to make sure it still works ;). Razorflame 22:55, 12 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I meant setting up a page something like this for users to add new verbs to. --Yair rand 23:05, 12 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, yeah, I would definitely be willing to set up such a page. I'll even do that now. Cheers, Razorflame 23:15, 12 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Autopatrol[edit]

I've added the bot to the autopatrol group until it gets formal bot flag, so that it doesn't flood the recent changes, which makes vandalism hard to spot. --Ivan Štambuk 02:01, 16 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ok. Thanks for the help :). Sorry about that, I have 267KB worth of words to add, and I wanted to get some of them done. Cheers, Razorflame 02:02, 16 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

What's the rush?[edit]

What happened to "one edit a minute"? The recent changes just got flooded. Can't it wait until the bot gets a flag? --Yair rand 06:39, 17 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah. I'm just doing a few small bursts every 6-12 hours to relieve the stress it'll have once it gets the flag. I'll wait now until it gets the flag, though. Razorflame 06:40, 17 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I'm going to have it edit at 1 edit per 5 minutes until it gets the flag. That should be slow enough. Razorflame 06:42, 17 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I can't see anyone getting annoyed about one edit every 5-10 minutes, but I think there might be some policies disallowing pre-bot-flag bot edits that aren't tests. Probably best to be on the safe side and wait three more days until the flag is given. On the other hand, no one has objected so far, so I dunno. --Yair rand 06:53, 17 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Nah, I'll just wait. Cheers, Razorflame 07:03, 17 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I added a French translation to your French user page. Any objections? Mglovesfun (talk) 12:56, 20 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

None. Thanks very much for the help! I appreciate it! Razorflame 18:45, 20 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
