So I just tried to add the botanic usage of "divisio" to that page. I base this on the International Association of Plant Taxonomy, Index 3 (para 3.1) which provides both English an Latin rendering, as follows:

  • CHAPTER I
  • TAXA AND THEIR RANKS
  • Article 3
  • 3.1. The principal ranks of taxa in descending sequence are: kingdom (regnum), division or phylum (divisio or phylum), class (classis), order (ordo), family (familia), genus (genus), and species (species). Thus, each species is assignable to a genus, each genus to a family, etc.

Which can be found [1]

While I was still trying to add the citation (as above) it was reverted without discussion and apparently it was flagged as a "harmful" edit. Edit history says: (Undo revision 51706967 by Wayne aus (talk) this is the Latin entry and is already probably covered under "1. division" anyway)

If I had wanted the ENGLISH entry, I would have typed the ^#*&*#$&! English spelling. I'm outta here. Wayne aus (talk) 13:55, 10 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Taxonomic names are handled here as "Translingual". Taxonomic ranks are a bit more of a gray area, but it probably would have been better better under a Translingual header. As for the edit filter: believe it or not, the overwhelming majority of links added by new accounts are spam, with a few links to sex videos or videos of people being killed and/or dismembered.
