These descendants should not be added here; they should be included on exsequor and persequor respectively. Please see the paragraph on WT:ALA#Descendants starting "Note that the list includes only links to entries whose etymology section would identify gallus as the direct etymological progentior of the term. Words descending from Latin derivatives of gallus should be listed on that entry and not at gallus." Also the template you added to execute classed the English word as a Latin word prefixed with ex, and so this template cannot be used in this way.

The changes have been made – thanks for the explanations. I've added persecute to persécuter as a descendant as per its etymology.

Hello, please don't copypaste word etymologies that are marked as unverified in Wikipedia to Wiktionary, like you did with commonwealth. I checked the Wikipedia article history, and on the date you added this false etymology (translation of res publica) to the definition, the claim was marked with {{citation needed}} in Wikipedia, and later entirely removed. OED makes no mention of the Latin connection in its entry on commonwealth, and compares to but does not suggest a translation of "res publica" in its definition on common weal.

Erm, that was me while not logged in.

Several problems with this edit. (1) You added a language section after the interwiki links. The interwikis should always come last. (2) You altered the "----" between language sections to "---", which breaks the formatting. (3) You added "----" to the end of the page, which shouldn't be done. Thanks for that — I see that you've also fixed horizontal-rule-related errors on my subsequent edits.

You added the etymology, I move it above the pronunciation (see WT:ELE) you then somehow added it again.

Sorry, I changed my mind as to the format of the etymologies so went back over my previous etymologies.

I thought that etymologies were below pronunciations, but evidently was incorrect.
