You must not copy definitions from other dictionaries. SemperBlotto (talk) 09:49, 13 March 2019 (UTC) The dictionary I am using is "Universal Dictionary" printed in 1899. There is no copyright.Reply

Importing definitions.

Please note, I have undone a number of your changes and additions to "ab-" words. We are pretty much done with importation from out-of-copyright dictionaries like Century and Webster. In many cases, words from those dictionaries that are missing on Wiktionary have already been shown to not exist. If you would like to proceed with your project, please do so with great care. Blindly importing words without checking that they exist is not a productive way to contribute to Wiktionary. This, that and the other (talk) 01:09, 8 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

OK. Thank you for your advice. I thought I am doing something fruitful. I believe some people might encounter with archaic words that do not exist in common dictionaries. I think Wiktionary must be more comprehensive than the 20-volume OED. Why are you reluctant to make a richer dictionary? Emehri (talk) 02:42, 9 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
