Are you sure that is how it's pronounced? I'd think it was [jæt] instead, like the Slavic pronunciation. —CodeCat 23:59, 25 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

According to OED, the jat your are talking about is the third meaning (they pronounced it [jætj] by the way) but the first two (Jat and jat, respectingly), are pronouced [dʒɑːt] and relates to Indian things. Encolpe (talk) 00:02, 26 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
