Fiji Hindi[edit]

It isn't hard to standardize (hif) as "Fiji Hindi" here if you like. As you note, that is the English form used in Fiji. Tell me what you think? Robert Ullmann 10:42, 9 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

SIL changed the ISO 639-3 code (hif) to "Fiji Hindi", which is what I think you were wanting. I've made the changes to the entries and categories to reflect this. --Bequw¢τ 22:50, 9 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Block[edit]

No, I do not know what CM is on about; yes, the 'pedia uses "Fiji Hindi"; but the ISO/SIL standard is "Fijian Hindustani" or alternate "Fijian Hindi" (as you have been using). If he's blocked you for using ISO as the standard rather than Wikipedia, that is pretty cracked; especially as the article reference says in the first sentence "also known as Fijian Hindi". (others should note that our "hif" template says Fijian Hindi at this writing, and this user was not the creator) I unblocked but apparently it has expired anyway. As I said above, we can rename it to Fiji Hindi (which would be better); but as of right now our standard name is Fijian Hindi. Robert Ullmann 11:55, 10 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

English definitions[edit]

Why would you be changing the English definitions/translations in entries to Fiji Hindi? Please put them back? Robert Ullmann 12:39, 9 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

The # line in these entries is translation into English in most cases. We've reverted a number of edits.
Respond here before you continue with any edits! Robert Ullmann 11:48, 10 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
Can you please clearly as to what was wrong with the entries you have reverted. I originally had translations, but the "help" indicates that these should be definitions, hence the edits that you have reverted Girmitya 11:53, 11 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
