Forms of borealis
[edit]It is nice to see someone eager to add forms of Latin adjectives. However, your formatting is incorrect. You can see correct formatting in the forms of the adjecitve (deprecated template usage) albus. Also, a bot exists that will be adding these forms, so doing them by hand is not necessary. --EncycloPetey 22:50, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
- There is a lot of simple work a new contributor can do. You simply have to find a task you feel comfortable doing, and that may mean lurking a bit, watching Special:RecentChanges for ideas, or exploring. To become familiar with Wiktionary basics, there is a lot of formatting to learn, but there are far fewer policy and style guides than on Wikipedia. The key pages I recommend are: (1) WT:ELE which is our primarily style guide, (2) Category:Swedish language, since your WP pages lists that as your primary language, (3) Category:Requests (Swedish), where people have noted problems with Swedish entries, or have requested a new entry, and (4) WT:BP which is our primary discussion forum. You might look through the subcategories of Category:Swedish language, either by part of speech or by topic, and brainstorm for words that aren't listed. Sometimes the entry does exist, but hasn't been categorized. Other times, the entry just hasn't been made yet. There are similar categories for other languages, and I've been filling Latin requests today. I also recommedn you create a user page here, even if it only lists your languages and points to your WP user page. Having information about the languages that user's know is the most important bit of information here, and we don't generally bother with personal userboxes. --EncycloPetey 23:15, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
- Addendum: You may also find User:Mike (and his user page) helpful, since Swedish is his native language as well, and he is an experienced editor here. --EncycloPetey 23:24, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
Your account will be renamed
[edit]Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Hymyly. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Hymyly~enwiktionary that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
